Kevin received his undergraduate degree from Northern Illinois University and his law degree from the University of Missouri at Kansas City. He completed approximately half of the credit hours for a masters of law degree (LLM) in taxation with an estate planning emphasis.

Kevin is a member of the American Academy of Adoption Attorneys.

He is married, with two children.
